CCA Treated Eucalyptus Poles
Pressure-treated eucalyptus poles for electrical distribution, fencing, agricultural structures and telecommunications lines.
Treated eucalyptus is the standard pole across Southern and East Africa for distribution lines and heavy fencing, and South Africa has the plantation base and the treatment capacity to supply it at scale.
The critical variable is hazard class. A pole in ground contact needs a higher retention of preservative than one used above ground, and specifying the wrong class is the most common cause of premature failure. We quote to the hazard class your application requires and state the retention achieved.
Poles are quoted by length, top diameter and treatment class. Because they are long and heavy, loading is usually in 40ft flat-rack or open-top equipment rather than standard dry containers, which affects the freight calculation.

Which hazard class do I need?
H4 for normal ground contact and H5 for heavy or wet ground contact. Specifying too low a class is the usual cause of early failure.
How are long poles shipped?
In 40ft flat-rack or open-top equipment. Shorter poles can load in standard 40ft high cubes, which is cheaper where the lengths allow.
