East Africa is served by two gateway ports, Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, which between them feed the Northern and Central corridors into Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and eastern DRC. Cargo destined inland spends more time on the road than at sea, so corridor planning matters more than the ocean leg.
Import duty treatment differs between East African Community members and non-members, and a certificate of origin can be worth a great deal at clearance. We issue it as standard rather than on request.
Demand out of the region is weighted towards road construction binder, detergent raw materials, feed protein and food commodities for distributors and institutional tenders.
