Penetration Grade Bitumen 70/100
Refinery-produced 70/100 penetration grade bitumen for hot-mix asphalt, surface dressing and chip seal work in temperate and moderate-climate road programmes.
70/100 is the softer of the two grades most commonly specified on African road contracts, and it is usually chosen where night-time temperatures drop far enough that a harder binder would risk thermal cracking. It is the default binder on many highland and southern African pavement designs.
Every consignment is supplied against a producer certificate of analysis covering penetration at 25°C, softening point, ductility, solubility and loss on heating. We do not blend or modify the binder; what is stated on the COA is what loads.
The practical decision for most buyers is drums versus bulk. Drummed cargo is slower to discharge but needs no heated facility at destination, which makes it the right answer for inland projects far from a bitumen terminal. Bulk bitutainers are cheaper per tonne but require heating and pumping at the receiving end.

One 20ft container, roughly 20 tonnes in 180 kg drums. Bulk bitutainer shipments start at a single 20–24 tonne unit.
Can you quote CIF to my destination port?
Yes. We quote EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF. Send your destination port and required quantity and we will price the routing.
Do you supply a certificate of analysis?
Every shipment is accompanied by a batch-linked producer certificate of analysis. Independent pre-shipment testing can be arranged at your nomination.
What is the difference between 70/100 and 60/70 bitumen?
60/70 is harder and more suited to hot climates and heavily loaded pavements. 70/100 is softer and preferred where lower temperatures make thermal cracking the greater risk.
